How to plant dianthus
Start Dianthus seeds indoors 8 to 10 weeks before transplanting out, or direct sow them in early spring or early autumn so that the seeds may be exposed to frost. Ideal temperature: 15-21°C (60-70°F). Seeds germinate in about 10 days. Starting Just cover the small seeds very lightly with soil. Aim to space plants 15-23cm (6-9″) apart. Growing Grow in rich, well drained soil with a pH range of 6.0-7.5. Water established plants only during dry spells.
